Symmetry Of Fashion

“Fashion is about something that comes from within you.”

Hello, girls!

I’m posting an article that I thought I had posted long back but then, I found it in the unpublished folder in my laptop.

When I did this shoot, I was very excited to talk about the trend of geometric accessories and symmetry in fashion that has been trending now for a while and I wanted this post to be a Choker top DIY but unfortunately, not only did I forget to post this article on time but that day, I also lost the choker that belonged to this outfit. So before you head over to the pictures, I wanted you to know that this tube top was actually a collar shirt before and I cut it and stitched it to make it look like this, except my choker was a collar choker.

For the theme of geometric fashion, I decided to wear something that shows different shapes and patterns in one outfit. So, the first thing that I picked up was this check shirt/tube top that I’ve worn as a knot crop. I paired it up with my culottes from Koovs. The accessories I’m wearing add to the theme like geometric earrings and marble bracelet in the shape of circle and triangle. I also wore the same bracelet as an arm cuff (Fashion tip). Another way to wear your accessories in a different manner. I decided to add a layer to the outfit and paired up my formal black padded shouldered blazer with it, giving a better shape to the final outfit.

For footwear, I decided to go for heeled white sneakers because the culottes make petite girls (like me) look even shorter. I couldn’t even get them shorter because otherwise, I’d have lost the beautiful frayed hem. So, I’d suggest the petite girls out there to also add some sort of heel if you’re planning to go for culottes. 🙂

So, let’s see how the outfit looks!

8 Ways To Wear A Dress In Winter

8 Ways To Wear A Dress In Winter

“People will stare. Make it worth their while.”

Dear all,

I wish you a very Happy New Year! I hope all of you are having a great time. From the past one month, I have been posting on my Instagram profile about something interesting that I have been working on for my blog. This is the article I have been going nuts about. I know it is difficult to come up with a lot of outfit ideas everyday in winters and we all miss wearing our short dresses and skirts when this season comes. That’s where the inspiration to do this blog post came from. I have hardly worn this dress in summer and before I knew it, winter was here and I was wondering if I will have to wait for months to wear it again. So I styled these 8 ways to wear this summer dress in winter so that I didn’t have to wait for months to look my fabulous self. Let’s see how I styled my dress in 8 ways:

1: Wearing the dress over a crop top

If you follow fashion trends, you must know about the trend of those slip dresses that are worn over tees that are so much in vogue now. For those of you who don’t wish to spend a lot of money on such dresses, this DIY should do. You can wear your black or stripped summer dress over a plain white crop top and Voila! You have a stylish outfit ready for you! I have paired the dress with black socks in all the looks. You can either wear thigh high stockings, fish net stocking, plain black stocking, woolen stocking or leg warmers with boots if you like. There are a lot of options available to you!

  • White Crop Top (Forever 21)
  • Thin Black Velvet choker from my collection on Spoyl App (Account: Sale Sale Sale)
  • Vintage Turkish Rings (Instagram Account)
  • Black Thigh High Stockings (Amazon.in)
  • Black ling Bag (Bought for Rs 250 from Karol Bagh, Delhi)
  • Heeled Oxford Shoes by Knotty Derby (Jabong)

2. Wearing a warm sweater over the dress

This is the most common way to wear your dress during the winter season. A warm sweater, plain black stockings, a cute sling bag and your oxidized silver accessories is all you need to put together when you want to look fab.

3: Wearing a plain blazer with the dress

Ditch your sweatshirt for this classy black blazer and pair it up with your dress. A blazer with padded shoulder is the best kind of blazer that you must have in your winter collection. This is something that you can even wear to your office and to any outing. I have paired up with dress with a black belt to give more shape to the outfit. Don’t forget to carry your “something blue” like I did to add color to your outfit and look sassy!

4: Wearing the dress with a light sweater & blazer both

Another way to look chic while staying warm; wear a light sweater under the blazer. I decided to wear a red colored sweater because that adds more color to the entire outfit which otherwise would have looked very dull. Try adding more colors to your winter wardrobe other than just black, white and grey.

5: Wearing the dress with a jacket & waist belt

Wear your summer dress with a nice jacket and a waist belt over it to give shape to the outfit. Other than this, you always have the option to accessorize the outfit whichever way you want. I wore a thick black velvet choker with my dress.

6: Layering the dress with two jackets

Another way to wear your dress is by layering. You can pair your dress up with a plain jacket and a leather jacket, both! Why go for one when you can wear both, right?

7: Adding a little color to your outfit

Instead of going for a plain simple black/white jacket, you can go for something bright that catches people’s eye. A yellow colored sweater would be a great choice for that. I am also carrying a tribal print backpack with this outfit. These kind of faux leather backpacks are trending a lot and look very chic when worn with a dress. You can wear a belt under the sweater and tuck the sweater in as well. That’s what I did in this outfit as well. A messy bun is a perfect hairstyle for this kind of back-to-school outfit.

8: Wearing the dress with a shrug & bohemian accessories

Last but not the least is to wear your dress with a shrug, a waist belt and few bohemian accessories. I wore a grey shrug that I bought from Sarojini Nagar but you can wear it with a more colorful shrug and of course, the chic oxidized silver accessories.

Crop Tops & Cardigans: Tips for dressing up for winter

Crop Tops & Cardigans: Tips for dressing up for winter

“Life is too short to wear boring clothes.”

Most girls think that it is difficult to look different and stylish every day during the winter season. It’s because they feel that there are less options available to experiment or because they think that if they decide to go for looking good, they might forget dressing up according to the season. However, that’s not how it is. This article, Crop Tops & Cardigans: Tips for dressing up for winter, is a short guide for all those girls who think winter wardrobe only includes sweatshirts, sweater and jackets.

The best thing that I find when it comes to dressing up for winters is layering. Because it’s cold outside, you can stop worrying about wearing just your sweater or a jacket. I would be happy to wear both. You can leave your hair open, wear accessories without worrying about the fact that they’ll be uncomfortable and there are so many options when it comes to accessorising. It’s not just the scarf but also the option for different types of caps that are available in the market, colourful socks that you can wear with your sandals, suspenders, collar pins, belts, cardigans, denim jackets with patch work and a lot more.

In this outfit, I am wearing a black crop top with a denim skirt that I have paired up with these heeled oxford shoes by Knotty Derby. I have also styled the same outfit in a different way by wearing a caged bralette instead of the crop top, black thigh high socks and carrying a side handbag on which I have tied my black scarf. The pictures of that look have been added at the end of the article.

The aim of these two outfits was to show you the ways in which you can style your winter outfits. You must have a long good looking cardigan that you can wear when it’s not too cold outside. Pair it up with a belt around your waist, a scarf that you can also tie up with your handbag later and comfortable footwear like heeled oxfords or block heeled boots. The point is you can definitely experiment with your winter wardrobe instead of wearing the same sweatshirt or sweaters over and over again. Life is too short to wear boring clothes. So, go find something amazing in your wardrobe that you love and style it in your own way.

In this one, my suspenders are clearly visible (which was not my intention) but it’s an easy way to make sure your outfit looks good without wearing belt, which can make your waist and you height, look short.

Exploring New Terrains

“The biggest adventure you can ever take is to live the life of your dreams.”
― Oprah Winfrey

Hey, all!

I’m sorry I haven’t been able to keep up with the posting date for my blog posts. The reason why I couldn’t post this article before was that I couldn’t come up with a good title for this outfit. I feel like the blog title makes a lot of difference when you’re publishing something. This is the first thing that attracts readers’ attention so I wanted it to be good enough for the outfit. I wanted the look to convey how I feel about it. I wanted the outfit to speak for itself but still, you have to give words to things at times. The location of this is shoot is an abandoned house all covered in leaves and trees and my look was inspired from this location. I wanted to put up something related to an adventurer; a look that would say that I’m willing to explore new terrains and I’m looking for adventure in my life. Far away from technology and the daily rush, I’m willing to get in touch with nature and discover things about myself that I have never known. People who like to travel a lot would be able to connect with what I’m saying. I wanted a carefree look; a calmer and more organised self and someone who is passionate enough to chase the things that they want in their life.

Lately, I’ve been trying to do the same thing in my life. I had been caught up with so many things before I started blogging that I ended up making a mess because you can only control so much. Therefore, I decided to quit all my other freelancing jobs, take a break from that hectic schedule of mine and focus on the more important things. I had realized I needed to take a break before I start working on something that I have always wanted to do. Now, I feel like I’m doing well at the things I’m focusing on and man, it feels good when you have everything under control. Being organised and keeping things under control is one of the most important things you need in life. Fashion photography blog is my new terrain that I’m exploring right now. I’m new at it, I’m excited about it and I’m willing to learn more about it.

I have also decided to not set any particular day for posting my articles. I had decided to do so earlier because I felt choosing a deadline would keep reminding me that I need to get done with this one task every week in time and not forget that I have to do this. However, now I feel that setting a deadline only makes me see fashion blogging as some work that I need to get done with, which I never wanted it to be. I never wanted it to be one of those tasks that I have to do because at some point in my life, I had decided this to be my thing. No, I want to work on it out of passion and choice, not pressure. So, I’ll keep you guys posted on Instagram whenever I’ll come up with any article. Do follow me there and keep checking my Instagram story as well to see the kind of nonsense I do on a daily basis. 😛 I’ll try to post one article weekly and if I don’t then I’ll make sure I come up with something interesting that’s worth the wait.

Styling Denim Dungaree in 4 Ways

The new trend that is now again in fashion from the 90s is the trend of Denim Dungarees. Denim fabric is everyone’s favourite because it can paired up with almost anything and is the safest option to go for whenever you are planning for an outing and are in no mood to experiment but still want to put up an awesome outfit. The same thing can be said about denim dungarees as well. Girls have not only been wearing denim dungarees with casual tees but bralettes, sports bra, check shirts, plain shirts, tank tops and whatnot. It’s not just about pairing it up with different tops but also about creating different looks using the same apparel so that every time you wear it, it looks entirely different than the last time. This is the best thing about some clothing, you can style them in a variety of ways and still not get bored with them. After all, what is fashion without some experimentation and your personal touch, right?

To share my styling tips while creating outfits and my love for this new trend, I decided to come up with this post about styling denim dungaree in 4 ways using the stuff that I already had in my wardrobe. Let’s check out the outfits below:

Look 1: The One with the very-common stripped top

I have kept this look very casual and funky keeping in mind the wardrobe of every girl. In this outfit, I’m wearing a horizontally stripped top with my Old Navy dungaree, Sonata watch, white shoes and carrying a tribal print backpack that I bought from Sarojini Nagar Market a year ago. These bags can actually carry a lot of stuff and go with all the outfits. Almost everything that I’m wearing is bought from Sarojini Nagar Market and is very affordable. One of the reasons why I’ve started this fashion blog is to show girls that fashion is affordable and it’s not just about wearing expensive branded clothes but knowing how and what to wear to look good.

  • White Shoes(Amazon.in)
  • Sonata Watch (Flipkart)
  • Tribal print backpack (Bought for Rs. 350 from Sarojini Nagar Market, Delhi)
  • Stripped Top (Bought for Rs. 200 from Sarojini Nagar Market, Delhi)

Look 2: The One with the trending bralette

In this look, I’m wearing a front criss-cross bralette, a thick velvet choker and my truffle collection flats with my dungaree. With this outfit, I’m carrying this super classy leather backpack by Dressberry and I’ve finished the look with my Timex watch.

If you are a fashion enthusiast, then you must know about the latest trend of bralettes. These bralettes are available in a lot of designs but the designs that I would suggest you go for while wearing a dungaree is either a front criss-cross design or the cages one. Other designs, like the pyramid bralette, just won’t go with it. The best thing about the criss-cross bralette is that you don’t necessarily have to wear a net or transparent top to flaunt it. You can wear it with any deep neck top or as a top without making it look too much for college.

  • Thick Velet Choker (Spoyl account: Sale Sale Sale)

Look 3: The One with the check shirt

I experimented a little with my casual dungaree and got this outfit. In this one, I’ve worn the same bralette (and you are free to wear either a spaghetti top or sports bra inside instead of the bralette) with my check shirt and the same white shoes from the first look. A loose shirt just wouldn’t go with the dungaree so I suggest you tie a knot and wear it the way I did. This way, you won’t have to worry about tucking your shirt in every once in a while, you’ll get the desired fitting, a chance to flaunt your curves even in a dungaree, and another new look for your runway days. Carry a casual backpack and you’re good to go.

Look 4: The One with the Denim on Denim look

Denim on denim is one of my favourite trends and is very much in fashion now. It looks stylish if you carry it in the right manner. My last look therefore is about how you can rock the denim on denim trend even when you’re wearing dungaree.

In this look, I’m wearing my stripped crop top, a full sleeves denim jacket and truffle collection flats with the same dungaree. For accessories, I’m wearing a beaded tattoo choker, my black round glasses, wired headband around my bun, Timex watch and carrying the same black Dressberry backpack.

If you do not want to wear a jacket made from the denim material, you are free to go for the ones that look exactly like denim but aren’t made from the same fabric. They are the best choice for summer if you want to wear denim without feeling suffocated in your outfit in summers because comfort comes first. Do not go around wearing something in which you aren’t comfortable because that way, you’ll end up feeling conscious about your outfit and the confidence just won’t come.
