Bold & Beautiful: Stealing From My Parents’ Wardrobe

“I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.I believe that tomorrow is another day & I believe in miracles.”

Hello, lovelies!

Posting after a month (apologies) and bringing to you something great, something new, something amazing!

Colleges are reopening soon and it is time to style everything that you’ve bought during the break. So, I decided to come up with a series of bohemian/Indo-western/not-so-ordinary outfit ideas that will help you stand out of the crowd when you go out. This is the time to use all your creativity and do that one thing we all never thought we, as adults, would never do and that is- steal from our parents’ wardrobe. Yes, you read it right!

For those short on money to spend on shopping, this could be a life saving blog series. I came up with multiple ways to style everything that I could find in my parents’ wardrobe and that included more than my dad’s loose tees and mom’s dupatta. I will show you how to rock those “old-fashioned” apparels in ways you didn’t think you could. 😉

The first outfit in this series is something I always wanted to wear but couldn’t come up with more ideas to style i.e. my mom’s salwar.

In this outfit, I wore a green salwar with a Broshne top from Stalk Buy Love and a must-have denim jacket. For accessories, I decided to go for these very trendy chandbalis with some beautiful stone work and a sling bag with pom pom strap and beautiful embroirdery work. For footwear, I chose the most basic and most stylish, a pair of white trainers that I recently ordered from Koovs.com.

Trench It Up winter fashion trends of 2017

Trench It Up

“I love new clothes. If everyone could just wear new clothes everyday, I reckon depression wouldn’t exist anymore.”

Hey, cookies!

A Trench coat or a long utility jacket is an apparel that every girls must have in her winter wardrobe. Not only does a good trench coat make your outfit more fashionable but also, it needs very less accessorizing. Without wearing much, you get a classy winter outfit which is very effortless to put together. You can get these trench coats anywhere online or on any fashion store. Forever 21, Zara and all the other brands have nice collections but if you cannot afford to spend 4,000-5,000 bucks, I have got more shopping locations for you to get these from. As a college student, I know how difficult it is to manage your finances, especially if you are a foodie who loves to eat around and try all the new places around the campus and if you are a shopaholic who just cannot stop shopping, be it online on sale or offline on great deals!

If you live in Delhi, you must have heard about Majnu Ka Tila market. That place has amazing stores where you can find trench coats, shrugs and cardigans at reasonable prices. If you are looking for even cheaper ones, you should definitely head to Sarojini Nagar Market in winters. You will obviously have to look for them but you will find something you love. Trench coats are available there in so many deigns and if you bargain, you can grab them for around 350-400 bucks. Yes, you heard it right.

The one that I’m wearing in this post is also from Sarojini that I bought for just Rs. 350. This is also called a Utility jacket. This one is a military green trench coat/utility jacket.

Let’s see how I styled it:

A Retro Story

Hello, all!

Here I am with the article that I have been postponing for so long but not anymore! So, this green top that I had bought from Sarojini Nagar two years ago, was lying under the heap of my clothes and I had never worn it much because it didn’t go well with an of the bottom wear I had back then. However, when I recently put it on, I loved how to colour of the top looked so lively and how well it looked. I even worn it to college and got a lot of compliments which I wasn’t expecting. 😛 These knot-tops were not in fashion at the time when I had bought it but now they surely are. Anyway, so the reason why I decided to publish this post was because of this outfit’s retro vibe. The entire outfit is retro. Hence, the name of the article.

I do hope you like the outfit. All the looks that I create on my blog are affordable and easy to recreate and so is this one. It’s very easy to find a knot crop top and a flared jeans. As far as the accessories go, if you like any of them from my blog posts, feel free to drop me a message on the Spoyl App. All my collection is available there under the username Sale sale sale and I can make stuff available for you if it’s out of stock. Other than that, I hope the details are helpful enough. You can recreate these outfits using your own personal style of course because your personal touch is what makes your outfits unique. 🙂

So, let’s see how the outfit looks.
